The Biodome Project

Month 2 (02/07/24)

The first inhabitants of the dome are doing well. Star has astonished me by taking to its new life quite naturally. Many times, I've spotted it with a plump insect clutched in its beak. I can't say the same about Coin. It has no trouble finding prey, but doesn't seem to understand how to catch it. I observed it looming over an uncaring moth, mouth agape as if begging the thing to spring right in. Of course the moth didn't do that and eventually Coin gave up. Later, I spotted Coin following after Star, almost as if it was trying to learn from the older specimen.

As for the Stranga Sciuro, I haven't even seen them, unfortunately.

I decided to release some more creatures, today. Two of my young Etarakido, Silver and Bronze, reached full maturity so I released them together. Their wings, reminescent of ocean waves against a sunset, are a welcome sight over the dome's forests. I'm delighted to see them immediately -- and successfully -- hunting down swarms of insects.

I noticed some Etarakido on the market and, although money is kind of tight, I decided to purchase a female I've now named Arcade. It's quite small and lethargic compared to my other specimen. If not for the perfect health checks, I'd wonder if it was sick. It likely has to do with how the previous lab took care of its capsule. Etarakido in their capsule stage demand round-the-clock care; it can be more than you'd expect. After release, Arcade simply slipped into the woods in search of a spot to rest.
